John Day River Bass Fishing 6/24-28/06

The John Day this year was perfect, weather, camping, fishing, everything. We all met up at Hotel Condon on Saturday night the 24th for Gin & Tonics and the OSU Beavers baseball game. We had dinner in the restaurant drank wine and told lies. Early the next morning we met for breakfast across the street then drove to the Twikingham bridge, our put-in. We then rigged boats and started catching Small Mouth Bass. Gravel bar swimming highlighted of our first night camp as everyone settled into our daily routine. The John Day River canyon once again proved to be an extremely warm and inviting place as we spent the next 3 days floating, fishing, eating, and drinking our way into our little slice of heaven.

Middle Fork & Main Salmon 6/10-21/06

I just got done with a amazing 2 week river trip. 17 of us enjoyed high water, clear skies, and good company. We camped at some great camps but I think I enjoyed Upper Marble the most. How could you not. It had a outstanding play wave less than 100 yards down stream. Of coarse the white sand beaches and hot springs are a highlights but nearly flipping as I got bumped sideways at the lip of Velvet Falls ranked right up there. If you haven't been on either of these trips, do it. Do it now.

Yakima River Fly Fishing 6-3-06

I fished the Yakima today. Fishing was consistent all day. We saw fish both nymphing and on drys. Light winds and partly cloudy skis made for another classic Yakima River day.
